Sintavia LLC, Davie, Fla., a Tier 1 metal additive manufacturer, recently broke ground on its new 55,000-sq.-ft. advanced manufacturing facility located in Hollywood, Fla. The $15 million facility, expected to open in late 2018, is the first of its kind to employ lean manufacturing principles for large-scale metal additive manufacturing.

The facility is expected to create 110 jobs for skilled technicians and support personnel and to house more than $25 million worth of metal printers, hot isostatic presses, vacuum furnaces, postprocessing equipment, and a CT scanner, as well as a metallurgical and mechanical lab.
