Benteler divests steel tube distribution business

Austria-based Benteler Group has announced it will divest its Benteler Distribution division, a distribution partner for steel tubes and associated services with about 1,600 employees, to the Van Leeuwen Pipe and Tube Group. This will allow the Group to increase its focus on its Automotive division, which accounts for about 80 percent of its turnover.

Benteler offers engineering and metal forming services to the automotive industry. Its technological capabilities include tube manufacturing, forming, joining, extrusion, assembly, and logistics.

The sale is expected to be completed by the end of 2019.
