Coherent launches ExactCut precision laser machines

The first offering in Coherent’s new ExactSeries line of fine materials processing equipment, the ExactCut micromachining system cuts metals, alloys, and ceramics. It ships with preprogrammed process parameters for the desired application.

The system combines pulsed fiber laser sources (300 W/3 kW pulse peak), a high-stability granite motion module, and a human interface. The software simplifies the entry of parameter and process recipes, which is suitable for short or prototype production runs and rapid changeovers. The system is designed for integration into high-volume production with a variety of interfaces for specialty tooling, rotary or linear stages, part handling robotics, and conveyor belts.
