Fiber laser processes complex contours, thin-to-thick sheets

TRUMPF Inc. has introduced the TruLaser 5030 fiber with a 10-kW TruDisk laser. It cuts mild steel up to 1 in., stainless steel up to 1.5 in., and aluminum up to 1 in. The machine’s patented HighSpeed Eco cutting technology minimizes nitrogen consumption while helping to maximize productivity using the newly designed biflow nozzle, the manufacturer says.

The machine processes complex contours and thin-to-thick sheets while minimizing cost per part. The CoolLine function stabilizes the cutting process in steel by use of targeted cooling, enabling intricate material contours and a tight layout of parts. The PierceLine function enables the laser to process smaller contours while boosting speed.
