Proton Products’ InteliSens sensor delivers measurement accuracy of 0.02 to 0.05 percent

Proton Products offers the InteliSens noncontact metals speed and length sensor. It delivers measurement accuracy between 0.02 and 0.05 percent.

The sensor’s high-resolution measurement tracks minute speed and length movement in continuous and discrete metals operations. Solid-state digital technology and no moving parts help ensure reliability. Embedded intelligent communications protocols include DeviceNet, EtherNet/IP, PROFIBUS, and PROFINET for commissioning with PLCs, DCS, and mill-reporting platforms.

Two environmental enclosures are available. The X-BOX Extreme Environmental Unit includes a double-wall stainless steel enclosure with a vortex cooler, water cooling, and air wipes for hot mill applications. The S-BOX Harsh Environmental Unit is a stainless steel enclosure with cooling and air wipe options that protects the measurement path from airborne cold rolling contaminants.
