K-TIG expands North American distribution arm

Adrian Smith and Leo Valerio

Australia-based welding manufacturer K-TIG has expanded its reach across North America with the appointment of MITUSA Inc., Maywood, Calif., as a new Tier 1 distributor to supply its products in the U.S. and Mexico.

MITUSA’s appointment aligns with K-TIG’s strategy to further develop third-party sales channels to complement its direct sales force.

K-TIG Managing Director Adrian Smith said specialist automation integrators were essential in incorporating the company’s technology into a turnkey welding automation system across industry.

“MITUSA is a highly regarded welding automation company specializing in automated seamers, offering both technical and logistical expertise for customers in North America,” Smith said. “We are confident in MITUSA’s management team, led by its president, Leo Valerio.”

Valerio began his career in 1970 at Eaton Leonard Robolix, integrating electronic equipment. He gained additional expertise at Valco Precision Works before founding MITUSA in 2017.

“A K-TIG distributor agreement primarily enables us to deliver productivity gains to our customers in a unique way with leading-edge technology,” Valerio said.
