BTD Manufacturing adds two fiber lasers

Custom metal manufacturer BTD Manufacturing, Detroit Lakes, Minn., has added two 10,000-W fiber laser systems to its facilities, one in Dawsonville, Ga., and one in Washington, Ill.

The Mitsubishi 3015 GX-F fiber sheet lasers feature an auto pallet changer and can be used with sheets as big as 5 by 10 ft. and 2,100 lbs. They can process mild and stainless steel as thick as 1 in., as well as aluminum up to 7/8 in. thick.

An auto zoom head automatically adjusts the beam size according to material type and thickness. In addition, the machine’s automatic nozzle changer can sense when a cutting nozzle is worn out and automatically replace it to help minimize maintenance downtime.
