Lasernut installs Mitsubishi fiber laser

Elk Grove Village, Ill.-based MC Machinery has installed the new GX-F Advanced series AI-enabled fiber laser at Lasernut in Norco, Calif. The machine offers burr reduction and gas reduction technology, which allows it to deliver more power while using up to 77% less nitrogen. It also provides faster production and higher capacity, according to the company.

Operators needed very little training because AI does much of the work, and the smartphone-like control panel is easy to use. Other features include augmented reality with drop and cut, part rotation, and rectangular nesting; real-time tracking of electric and assist gas consumption; real-time, on-site, and remote monitoring of the cutting process; remote diagnostics and predictive maintenance; and an automated nozzle changer that supports continuous processing.
