Steelcon Group of Companies establishes U.S. headquarters

Steelcon Group of Companies, Brampton, Ont., has acquired Hammett Steel, a structural and miscellaneous steel fabricator based in Columbus, Ga.

“While Hammett Steel is the newest member of the Steelcon Group of Companies, they bring deep roots and breadth of experience in the U.S. market, having served the southeast U.S. and beyond for almost 60 years,” said Steelcon’s Danny Bianco. “This acquisition will allow us to expand Hammett’s capabilities and extend SIN beam reach into the U.S.”

Hammett’s 200,000-sq.-ft. production facility serves as headquarters for Steelcon’s U.S. operations and is equipped a fully automatic production line for fabricating the corrugated web beams. As production increases, Steelcon estimates the creation of up to 200 highly skilled manufacturing jobs at the Columbus facility.
