Boeing opens military aircraft factory in Pennsylvania

Boeing has opened a renovated, 350,000-sq.-ft. factory near Philadelphia for the production of aircraft fuselages for the U.S. Marines. The $115 million project took two years to complete.

The plant will manufacture the aircraft body as the Marine Corps modernizes its fleet of V-22 tiltrotors. The manufacturing process also will standardize the V-22’s configuration.
