Cincinnati Incorporated accepts Manny Award for BAAM machine

Cincinnati Incorporated’s (CI’s) Big Area Additive Machine (BAAM) was named Biggest Breakthrough of the Year at the 2016 Manny Awards, sponsored by Cincinnati magazine. The Manny Awards recognize the accomplishments of manufacturers in Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky.

BAAM, an industrial-sized additive machine, was developed as part of a cooperative R&D agreement between CI and the Department of Energy’s Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL). Its open architecture allows fast 3-D printing of large parts, and it uses commodity thermoplastic materials to help reduce per-part costs.
