Siemens Mobility to build North Carolina manufacturing center

Siemens Mobility Inc., a global manufacturer of rail transportation vehicles and control systems, will build a $220 million manufacturing and rail services center in Lexington, N.C., creating 506 jobs.

The carbon-neutral facility will manufacture passenger rail vehicles for its East Coast markets. The 200-acre site will include multiple buildings and more than 11,000 ft. of rail track.

Siemens Mobility has nine manufacturing facilities (including Lexington), 4,000 employees, and more than 2,000 suppliers across the U.S. The company’s core areas of focus include rolling stock, rail automation and electrification, and software.
