Compact, 3-kW fiber laser cutting system has 3D cutting capabilities

Amada offers the Brevis 1212 AJ compact, high-precision, 3-kW fiber laser. Engineered for manufacturing versatility, it features high-speed laser cutting, easy material loading, and a flexible Z axis to help ensure efficient laser cutting of assembled or preformed parts, according to the company. The cutting system handles everything from prototyping to full-scale production.
With its 4- by 4-ft. footprint, the machine saves shop floor space. Doors on both sides of the machine slide open, maximizing accessibility for material handling. Cutting pallets are easily pulled out for efficient material loading. In addition, 4- by 8-ft. sheets can be loaded to process two 4- by 4-ft. workpieces sequentially.
The flexible Z axis allows precise laser cutting on 3D materials, such as boxes or covers with a height up to 7.8 in. Accuracy is maintained because there is no deformation when cutting close to bend lines.
Other features include the company’s AMNC 3i control with an easy-to-navigate graphical interface and a high-speed processor, the i-Camera assist system, and an automatic nozzle cleaner.
