Huntingdon Fusion Techniques’ Weld Backing Tape supports liquid weld root to minimize oxidation

Argweld glass-fiber Weld Backing Tape from Huntingdon Fusion Techniques HFT supports weld roots and eliminates the creation of slag while removing contact with air to reduce contamination.

The tape has no true melting point, so it works with GTAW and GMAW, which can reach temperatures up to 6,000 degrees C. It is suitable for use with manual and automatic welding processes.

The 3-in.-wide aluminum adhesive tape has a 1-in.-wide glass-fiber band in the center. The glass-fiber matting comes in different thicknesses to match the welding current being used.
