Former chair of SPFA pipe section inducted into STI/SPFA Hall of Fame

Lake Zurich, Ill.-based STI/SPFA has inducted Ralph Carpenter, former chairman of the SPFA pipe section, into its Hall of Fame.

Carpenter brought 31 years of experience to the organization, serving as chair of the pipe section from June 2009 to January 2016 and creating and serving as chair of a special STI/SPFA marketing committee from 2010 through 2015. With his very technical yet practical knowledge and industry experience, he brought together industry experts for a series of technical steel pipe webinars sponsored by the association.

Carpenter retired from American in 2017 after a nearly 40-year career in the pipe industry. He served on the executive committee for the ASCE Pipeline Division and was chairman in 2012. He also co-chaired the 2008 Pipelines Conference and served on several other ASCE committees. In addition, he served as chairman of the Pipeline Division for the North American Society for Trenchless Technology.
