Fanuc introduces new series of collaborative robots at FABTECH

A new cobot from Fanuc combines one of the company’s standard robots with welding software

Fanuc America’s new series of collaborative arc-welding robots handle large payloads and have long reaches. These capabilities, combined with their large ranges of motion, increase system flexibility to allow processing of a broad spectrum of parts, said company general manager Mark Scherler during an interview with The Additive Report at FABTECH 2019.

Fanuc’s new CR-15iA and CR-7iA/L cobots support WAAM (wire-arc additive manufacturing). At FABTECH, a CR-15iA was fitted and programmed to build an aerospace jet turbine component.
