3DPrint.com has announced it will host its Innovation Showcase, a conference-style online event, June 5-7. It will include live guest speaker sessions, product demos, and audience Q&A sessions, plus resources and discussions broken out into various industry categories.

Topics will include metal, industrial plastics, electronics, medical, 3-D scanning, generative design, footwear, eyewear, full-color 3-D printing, open source versus closed source, higher-speed industrial 3-D printing, postprocessing and automated technologies, and the democratization of 3-D printing.

Sessions on June 5 will include a keynote address, as well as a presentation by Salvatore Richter, a software developer with expertise in coding in OpenSCAD. Richter will examine how technology has evolved in the last two decades and how he believes 3-D printing will follow a parallel path, as well as the widespread availability of 3-D printing technology and the pricing developments of printers and materials that are driving disruptive change.

On June 6 Tim Ruffner, commercial sales channel manager – Midwest region for Desktop Metal, will offer a presentation about designing a prototype or part for 3-D printing in metal. In addition, Pete Weijmarshausen, co-founder of Beheld 3D and co-founder and former CEO of Shapeways, and Kat Kinkead, co-founder and CEO of Beheld 3D, will discuss the rise of 3-D printing in recent years and some of the challenges it still faces in becoming relevant and accessible to the average consumer.

June 7 will include sessions on generative design and full-color 3-D printing. For more information and to register for the event, visit 3dprint.com/innovation-showcase/.
