AMUG to host conference for additive manufacturing users April 8-12

Dominik Rietzel

The Additive Manufacturing Users Group (AMUG) Conference marks its 30th anniversary with an event from April 8-12, 2018, in St. Louis.

The keynote speakers will be Dominik Rietzel and Todd Grimm. Rietzel is head of BMW Group’s Additive Manufacturing Center (Non-Metal). His presentation “Additive Manufacturing on the Road: A Journey from Prototyping to Production” represents his experiences as BMW Group expanded its use of AM from prototyping.

Grimm, president of T. A. Grimm & Associates and AMUG’s AM industry adviser, will present “Light at the End of the Tunnel.” The keynote address will include industry updates with Grimm’s observations on what he sees as a shift in expectations and attitudes in the AM industry.

The conference also will include an Innovators Showcase, which will bring AM leaders on stage for an open conversation; a Global AM Review, which will provide an AM industry update; the AMUG Technical Competition, which will allow users of AM technologies to display their applications and finishing capabilities in a forum that will be judged by a panel of experts; and more than 200 presentations, workshops, and hands-on training sessions.
