Orlando, Fla.-based Fonon Corp. has announced it is finalizing the development of its new technology for 3-D laser metal printing. Called Bulk-To-Shape (BTS™) Transformational Technology, it is designed to help improve 3-D printing results in terms of material density, uniformity, oxide content, and geometrical accuracies.
The company believes the new technology will open paths for unlimited-sized printing and will initially be applied for specific product manufacturing applications, such as rocket and jet engine components, engine blocks, and spare parts for military equipment.
