TRUMPF Inc. to hold TruPrint 1000 consignment contest

In support of the growth of additive manufacturing research, Farmington, Conn.-based TRUMPF has announced that it will hold a contest to consign TruPrint 1000 LMF (laser metal fusion) systems. Suitable for research, the machine offers a build volume of 3.93 in. dia. and 3.93 in. height, a 200-W laser, compact footprint, open parameters, high resolution of printed parts, high processing speed, and simple operation.

The contest is open to colleges, universities, and research institutes in North America. Up to three winners will be selected to receive a TruPrint 1000 for a period of 12 months. Within that time frame TRUMPF will provide those selected with training and support on the system. Applicants must submit a paper explaining their research objectives if they were to receive a TruPrint system for their research lab.
