Former Lincoln Electric chairman/CEO dies

John M. Stropki Jr., former chairman, president, and CEO of Cleveland-based Lincoln Electric Holdings Inc., died May 11, 2019. He had a 41-year career with the company, starting as a summer intern while in college.

Stropki became executive vice president and president, North America, in 1996. He joined the board of directors in 1998 and was promoted to chairman, president, and CEO in 2004. He earned a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering from Purdue University and an MBA degree from Indiana University.
