LVD acquires solutions business of Kuka Benelux

LVD Co. nv, Gullegem, Belgium, has acquired the solutions business unit of Kuka Automatisering + Robotics nv in Houthalen-Helchteren, Belgium, to launch the new company LVD Robotic Solutions bv.

The new company is expected to advance LVD’s expertise and market reach in robotics automation significantly. It will build on LVD’s experience with engineering robotic systems for sheet metalworking, centered on no robot teaching, high throughput, and fast “art to part,” and allow LVD to serve as a single-source provider of automation systems for its customers’ entire manufacturing business.

Core areas of focus for LVD Robotic Solutions will include standardized robotic systems for sheet metalworking based on LVD products and using its programming system CADMAN-SIM, and robotic systems for other industrial applications such as part deburring, metal coating, automotive workpiece handling, press linking, windshield glue application, production line part bin picking, and end-of-line packaging.

The engineering and project management staff of Kuka Benelux becomes part of the LVD Robotic Solutions. The robot sales and service portion of Kuka Benelux is not part of the sale and remains a separate entity located at the Houthalen-Helchteren office, acquired by LVD Co.
