Ace Metal Crafts adds press brake

Ace Metal Crafts Co. has added a Bystronic Xpert 320 press brake to its facility in Bensenville, Ill. The machine gives the company 60 percent greater tonnage power compared to its existing 220 brake. In addition, the company reports that the press brake allows it to accommodate more diverse projects and complete them in shorter time frames.

The press brake, which is 16.3 by 6.6 by 10.5 ft., can bend thick material up to 13.4 ft. long using 352 tons. It offers an 18-in. ram stroke and 29-in. open height. Features include a 5-axis backgauge, intelligent safety system with tool detection, thickness monitoring, dynamic bending pressure regulation, energy-saver system, optical bend guiding system, and laser angle measuring system with automatic correction.

The control system monitors side frame deflection and system temperatures every 8 milliseconds and automatically compensates during each bend.
