American Axle & Mfg. Holdings acquires Metaldyne Performance Group

American Axle & Mfg. Holdings Inc. (AAM), Detroit, has completed the acquisition of Metaldyne Performance Group Inc. (MPG). MPG now is a wholly owned subsidiary of AAM.

AAM will operate four business units: Driveline, Metal Forming, Powertrain, and Casting.

David C. Dauch remains chairman/CEO of AAM. The board of directors has been expanded to include George Thanopoulos, former MPG CEO, as well as former MPG board members Kevin Penn and Loren Easton.
