Arisa delivers servo press to Gestamp

Logroño, Spain-based press builder Arisa, a subsidiary of Nidec Minster Corp., Minster, Ohio, has produced what it says is the world’s most powerful servo press, featuring two slides with a combined stamping force of more than 5,000 tons. The press will be operational at Gestamp Automación’s Bielfeld, Germany, facility in April 2017.

The press is powered by six Siemens servomotors featuring an energy management system. From the foundation to the crown, the 52-ft.-high press will require more than 40 truckloads to ship.

The press will feature an Arisa-designed transfer mechanism, allowing high-tensile material to travel through the die space at top production rates while maintaining precise part tolerances, states the company. It also will include fully integrated controls, production software, and automated quick die changing units.
