Newcomb Spring hires corporate controller

Newcomb Spring Corp., an Alpharetta, Ga., supplier of compression springs, extension springs, torsion springs, wire forms, stampings, rings, hooks, and battery contact springs, has named John C. Porter as corporate controller.

Porter has a diverse background in manufacturing operations, financial management, and consulting. He previously worked at Stone Container/Smurfit-Stone Container Corp. and Pratt Industries. Porter holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in accounting, as well as an MBA, from Western Illinois University.
