- October 30, 2018
- News Release
- Bending and Forming
Proos Mfg., Grand Rapids, Mich., has been sold to company President Bryan Howard. The firm also has announced plans to increase manufacturing capacity and add jobs.
Howard takes over the role of owner/CEO from third-generation owner Amy Proos, who has been with the company for 37 years and is its first female CEO/owner.
Howard joined the firm as general manager in 2015 and became president in 2017. He has 20 years of experience across a variety of manufacturing disciplines, including operations, quality control, and business development.
Proos will remain part of the company’s leadership as chief thought officer. In this role, she will influence corporatewide initiatives that focus on growth and operational improvements.
The facility expansion includes the purchase of an existing 60,000-sq.-ft. facility in Grand Rapids, where office and assembly functions will be relocated to allow for increased manufacturing at the current location. The company plans to hire 25 employees over the next two years.
Proos Mfg. offers stamping for the auto parts industry, as well as engineering services, sheet metal fabrication, welding, and wire harness assemblies.
