UAW resumes strike at Volvo Trucks facility

The United Auto Workers union has voted to resume its strike at Volvo Trucks North America’s New River Valley truck assembly operations in Dublin, Va., after members of UAW Local 2069 rejected the tentative agreement the parties agreed to May 20, 2021, the automaker reports.

On April 30 workers called off a 13-day strike after the company brokered an agreement to restart talks. Since then UAW workers voted no to a May 16 contract and to its second version, put to a vote June 6.

Until an agreement is reached, the 3,300-employee facility will move forward without 2,900 union members.
