AZZ Inc. acquires Preferred Industries

AZZ Inc., a Fort Worth, Texas, provider of metal coating and welding systems and specialty electrical equipment, has acquired all the assets of Preferred Industries Ltd., a privately held powder coating company. Preferred provides powder and e-coating services to the automotive, HVAC, marine, transportation, medical, industrial, and plastics industries.

Preferred has a 155,000-sq.-ft. facility in Terrell, Texas, and an 89,600-sq.-ft. facility in Rowlett, Texas. AZZ intends to operate these plants as AZZ Surface Technologies – Terrell and AZZ Surface Technologies - Rowlett, integrating them with six existing powder coating and plating operations the company operates in the area.
