Valence gains Boeing approval for a new titanium etch processing line

Valence Surface Technologies, an independent provider of aerospace product finishing services, has received Boeing approval for a new titanium etch line at its plant in Everett, Wash. The new line is designed to process aerostructure components up to 12 ft. long and high-quantity orders.

Following the installation of the new capability, the company implemented an operator training program to transfer process knowledge and operating procedures from its Seattle facility, which culminated in the Everett site receiving Nadcap Merit accreditation and Boeing D1-4426 approval to process titanium per BAC 5753. The firm now is preparing to add titanium processing approvals for Gulfstream, Lockheed, and other aerospace OEMs.
