Trace-A-Matic expands 5-axis machining automation

Trace-A-Matic Corp., a producer of complex metal parts and components, has expanded the 5-axis machining automation capabilities at its facility in Brookfield, Wis., with the addition of a Mazak Variaxis i-700 vertical machining center.

The machine features an 18,000-RPM spindle, CAT40 Big-Plus toolholder, 240-tool magazine, and 18-pallet Palletech system. Its working envelope is 24.8-in. X axis, 43.31-in. Y axis, and 23.62-in. Z axis.

The company manufactures precision-machined components and assemblies for the aerospace, defense, food processing, heavy equipment, medical equipment, oil and gas, power generation, transportation, and general industry markets.
