MPI | Magnetic Products Inc. celebrates 40 years in business
MPI | Magnetic Products Inc., Highland, Mich., marks its 40th anniversary in 2021. The company’s industrial magnetic and metal control equipment removes contaminants, separates, and conveys metal in the production process.
Founded in 1981 by CEO Keith Rhodes, MPI’s first products were manual quick‐cleaning and automatic self‐cleaning permanent magnetic separators for removing metal contaminants from the food production process. Based near Detroit, the company then focused on automotive manufacturing, developing conveyor products for parts handling and scrap removal.
The company set an industry record by building the world’s longest single beltless magnetic conveyor at 101 ft. long, and it recently fabricated a complete scrap metal conveying system measuring more than 450 ft. long.
