Braidy Industries acquires Veloxint

Ashland, Ky.-based Braidy Industries has purchased Veloxint, an ultrahigh-strength alloy and powder metallurgy provider in Framingham, Mass. Veloxint, now a wholly owned subsidiary of Braidy Industries, is led by CEO Dr. Alan Lund, who also assumes the role of Braidy Industries’ chief technology officer.

Veloxint’s manufacturing base will be co-located with Braidy’s $1.5 billion aluminum rolling mill in Ashland. The new plant is scheduled to be operational by 2020. Veloxint’s research and prototyping facilities remain in Framington, Mass.
