Braner/Loopco receives slitting line order from United Steel Supply

Braner/Loopco, Schiller Park, Ill., has received an order for a Turret Head™ slitting line from Austin, Texas-based United Steel Supply, a supplier of galvanized and prepainted steel coil for metal roofing and siding applications.

The line will have the capacity to process high-strength coated and bare carbon steel coils in gauges from 0.010 to 0.125 in. with mechanical properties to 160,000 PSI.

Targeting productivity of four setups and four coils per hour, the line features automatic, no-hands coil loading; a triple turret slitter with 1-min. head change; threadless aluminum CloverNut slitter tooling lockup; programmable, automatic vertical knife clearance adjust; quick-change tensioner and overarm separators; 2-min., hands-free line threadup; programmable, automatic constant line tension; adjustable centerline overarm; production reporting; remote troubleshooting diagnostics and program updates; and advanced safety and automation features.
