Direct Metals provides materials for University of Texas El Paso monument

Direct Metals, an international steel service center with locations in Kennesaw, Ga., and Waukegan, Ill., has provided specialty metal products for the University of Texas El Paso monument in El Paso, Texas. The company provided 17 pieces of custom carbon steel metal plates, perforated with ½-in.-dia. holes on 11/16-in. staggered centers.

The massive “Buried Pick” monument is 40 ft. tall, 25 ft. long, and 12 ft. wide. It stands adjacent to the university’s S-3 parking lot.
