Fagor Arrasate to deliver automated slitting line to Steel Technologies
Spain-based Fagor Arrasate has announced that Steel Technologies LLC has ordered a fully automated slitting line to be installed at its Portage, Ind., facility. The line will be able to process up to 72- by 3/8-in. steel and aluminum.
The line will feature the FASTR (Fagor Automatic Slitter Tooling Robot), automatic robotic debanding for safely loading coils, automatic threading cycles to minimize operator intervention with material, and fully automatic CNC separators throughout the tension and recoiling sections.
Fagor Arrasate recently opened a new technical service facility in Portage five minutes from the Steel Technologies site.
