Friedman Industries begins shipping product from new Texas facility

Friedman Industries, a manufacturer and processor of steel products based in Longview, Texas, has begun shipping material to customers from its newly constructed, 70,000-sq.-ft. coil processing facility in Sinton, Texas.

Material is processed on a new stretcher leveler cut-to-length line that handles steel coils up to 1 in. thick and 96 in. wide, with yields exceeding 100,000 PSI. The facility currently is staffed to operate a single shift, but the company is hiring and training additional personnel so a second shift can be operated as production ramps up.
