JW Aluminum to install tension leveling and slitting line at South Carolina plant

JW Aluminum, a manufacturer of flat-rolled aluminum, is investing $8.5 million to install a new tension leveling and slitting line at its Goose Creek, S.C., facility. The new coil processing equipment is being custom built by Red Bud Industries and Machine Concepts. Installation will begin in Q3 2019, and the equipment will be fully operational by the end of 2019.

At 84 in. wide, the new line will accommodate the increased coil width resulting from the new melters, caster, and mill that will be operational in 2020 as part of the expansion currently underway at the Goose Creek facility.
