Ryerson celebrates 175th anniversary

Ryerson recently marked its 175th year in business with open house events at locations across North America. The value-added processor and distributor of industrial metals opened its doors in November 1842 in Chicago and today has 100 locations in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and China.

To extend the celebration, the firm has launched Ryerson Gives Back, a company-wide volunteer initiative from December 2017 to November 2018. The program encourages the company’s 3,600 employees to support organizations in their communities by allowing employees to volunteer their time during normal business hours and subsidizing expenses.
