Union Partners I LLC acquires all assets of Lee Steel’s Grand Rapids operations

Union Partners I LLC, an investment holding company in Oak Brook, Ill., has announced it has entered into an asset purchase agreement with Lee Steel Corp. to acquire all assets of Lee Steel’s Grand Rapids facility in Wyoming, Mich., and the working capital assets located at Lee Steel’s Romulus, Mich., facility.

The Romulus operations will be consolidated into the Wyoming facility with no interruption in service to Lee Steel’s customers. Lee Steel intends to maintain distribution capabilities in the Detroit area as a complement to its operations in Wyoming.

Lee Steel joins an affiliated group of steel service centers in the Union Partners group of companies, which includes Lexington Steel Corp., LexWest LLC, Lex South LLC, Mapes & Sprowl Steel LLC, Chicago Steel Holdings LLC, JIT Steel Services LLC, and Opus Metals LLC.
