EVS Metal adds turret punch press at Texas facility

Precision metal fabricator EVS Metal, Riverdale, N.J., has taken delivery of a new Amada EMK 3612 M2 turret punch press at its Pflugerville, Texas, precision metal fabrication facility. It will be used with the Amada ASR 3015N to allow for automated material load and unload and eventually unattended, lights-out punching operation.

The punch press has four built-in tapping stations and can process 10- by 5-ft. metal sheets without repositioning. It also features electrical power savings of as much as 70 percent over typical hydraulic machines, and twin servo drives offer reduced maintenance and repairs, the company says.

The material handling system eliminates the need for operators to wait for an entire sheet to be processed before a part can be handled. Additionally, sheets of different metal types can be run concurrently since the system can pick up individual items rather than using an entire pallet of a single material before moving on to the next.
