data M managing director receives China’s Friendship Award

Germany-based data M Sheet Metal Solutions GmbH, a provider of roll forming design and simulation software, has announced that Albert Sedlmaier, managing director, has received the People's Republic of China Friendship Award for his work as a technical adviser. Fifty experts who have contributed to the economic and social development of China received the award—the highest honor granted to a foreigner.

Sedlmaier currently acts as a technical adviser at the Jinan Foundry and Metalforming Machinery Research Institute in Jinan City, Shangdong, China, which nominated him for the award.

In 1991 Sedlmaier established a business and academic collaboration with Dr. Liu, professor at North China University of Technology at the time. Over the past 26 years, the two experts have built up a nationwide network, trained specialists, and introduced new technologies to the Chinese market. Currently data M is working with a Chinese machine builder in flexible roll forming based on a patent license.
