Airstream plans $40 million plant in Ohio

Airstream Inc. has announced plans to build a $40 million, 750,000-sq.-ft. facility in Jackson Center, Ohio. The plant expansion, expected to be complete in 2019, will consolidate multiple production spaces into one facility, bringing the assembly of the company’s travel trailers under one roof. The current 255,000 sq.-ft. travel trailer plant will be converted for use building the company’s motorized touring coaches.

The manufacturer expects to hire additional associates, bringing total employment at the company in Jackson Center to about 1,200 people.

The factory will include a training center for employees and dealer associates to earn certifications, learn new skills, and master new production and maintenance techniques.
