BAE Systems opens new Texas facility

BAE Systems has opened its new $150 million engineering and production facility in Austin, Texas. Half of the 390,000-sq.-ft. facility will be dedicated to manufacturing. The new campus also includes engineering design, laboratory, and office space.

At the new site, the company has increased its manufacturing capability with a streamlined design that can be reconfigured and expanded to match evolving technologies.

Work at the site focuses on autonomy, cyber, and sensor development; the design, development, and manufacturing of radio frequency and electro-optical/infrared countermeasure systems; and aircraft electrification technology.
