Charl-Pol celebrates 100 years in business

Charl-Pol, a manufacturer of mechanically welded parts based in Saguenay, Que., marks its 100th anniversary this year. The fourth-generation family business was founded in 1921 in La Baie, Que., as Les Ateliers Jos Tremblay et Fils.

Today the manufacturer of heavy industrial equipment for the aluminum, mining, energy, marine, and pulp and paper sectors employs about 400 people at its four Quebec plants (located in Saguenay, Portneuf, Sept-Îles, and Baie-Comeau) and a plant in Kitimat, B.C.
