DC-Tri begins production of electric trike

DC-Tri, Queensland, Australia, has developed an electric trike for personal transportation. The team of bike mechanics, engineers, and metal workers launched the company on Kickstarter in July with a $50,000 funding goal. Having reached the goal, the company is set to begin large-scale production.

The trike’s stable chrome-moly frame and Maxiss 26-in. front tire were designed to provide consumers with a steady platform for a safe ride. The rechargeable 11.6-Ah lithium-ion battery can be used with any standard power outlet. On a single charge, riders can travel at speeds up to 15 MPH for 30 miles. Users can choose between self-propulsion or the electric motor.
