FarWest Fabricators awards $5,000 scholarship to Perry Technical Institute
FarWest Fabricators, Moxee, Wash., has presented a new $5,000 Jeff Carter Scholarship to Perry Technical Institute, Yakima, Wash., to support students pursuing technical training in its welding and machining and precision manufacturing programs. The scholarship is named after the company’s recently retired former owner.
"We've had great success over the years hiring Perry Tech graduates, and we know that great educational institutions are key to the health of any community," said Norm Thomas, CEO of FarWest Fabricators. "We're proud to be able to offer our support both financially and through our employees serving as advisers and mentors for Perry Tech and its students."
The Perry Technical Institute Foundation will supervise the fund, which the school will award to two students based on assessment of grades, attendance, and work ethic.
