Felling Trailers receives 2018 Green Manufacturing Award

Felling Trailers Inc., Sauk Centre, Minn., has received the 2018 Green Manufacturing Award from the National Association of Trailer Manufacturers. The award recognizes manufacturers that have made significant contributions toward improving their environmental impact within their manufacturing processes and facilities. The award celebrates environmental awareness and protection, as well as the business opportunities created therein.

Over the course of several years, Felling Trailers Inc. has made the reduction of its environmental footprint a prime focus. The company has replaced its metal halide lightbulbs with T8 bulbs; implemented a partnership with a paint, lightbulb, and rag disposal company; installed ventilation systems that capture welding fumes and gases at their source and return clean air to the welding shop floor to maintain heat; implemented a system that pushes heat produced in the compressor room to the drying room in winter; and switched to paint that has only 4 percent of the pollutants found in its previous paint.
