GM to invest $22 million in Tennessee plant

General Motors is investing $22 million at its Spring Hill, Tenn., manufacturing complex to enable the plant to build 6.2-liter, V-8 engines with the automaker’s Dynamic Fuel Management technology. This cylinder deactivation technology enables an engine to operate in 17 different cylinder patterns to help optimize performance.

In addition to the new investment, GM is completing a previously announced $300 million investment at the complex for production of the all-new Cadillac XT6. Spring Hill will be adding more than 200 jobs.
