Kolene acquires Upton Industries

Kolene Corp., a provider of custom-designed and -engineered molten salt bath equipment and specialty chemical formulations, has announced the acquisition of Upton Industries, Roseville, Mich. Upton designs and manufactures heat-treating equipment, including box type, car bottom, lift-off, and specialty furnaces using electric or gas-fired heating.

Kolene will maintain both its Detroit headquarters and the Roseville location, which will be home to all of the company’s manufacturing and fabrication. Bringing the two companies together, the new Kolene will house nearly 50,000 sq. ft. of manufacturing, fabrication, and commercial processing capabilities.
